VGI
Enhanced Water v20 HDMI mod has hijacked my ability to launch the game. Its either I run the game with this mod active in OBMM, or I don't run the game at all. I don't know what happened that I now find myself in this situation other that me installing this mod through OBMM (It's just a 12k esp file, and I turned it into an omod). I've deleted the omod, and have installed this manually. Will be testing turning this on and off from the Oblivion Launcher whether it will work or not. UPDATE: Removed the mod, then rebuilt the Bashed Patch. Can get into game now, but cannot recall if in-game waters look like that... UPDATE:No, it definitely does not look like that. I think that Enhanced Water v20 HDMI mod did some changes to a main file (like Oblivion.esm or ini or something) and did not reset it. Oblivion.ini file is in (\Documents and Settings\[user]\My Documents\My Games\Oblivion). Here is my ini file contents under [water]:[Water]fAlpha=0.5000uSurfaceTextureSize=128SSurfaceTexture=waterSNearWaterOutdoorID=NearWaterOutdoorLoopSNearWaterIndoorID=NearWaterIndoorLoopfNearWaterOutdoorTolerance=1024.0000fNearWaterIndoorTolerance=512.0000fNearWaterUnderwaterVolume=0.9000fNearWaterUnderwaterFreq=0.3000uNearWaterPoints=8uNearWaterRadius=1000uSurfaceFrameCount=32uSurfaceFPS=12bUseWaterReflectionsMisc=0bUseWaterReflectionsStatics=0bUseWaterReflectionsTrees=0bUseWaterReflectionsActors=0bUseWaterReflections=1bUseWaterHiRes=1bUseWaterDisplacements=1bUseWaterShader=1uDepthRange=125bUseWaterDepth=1bUseWaterLOD=1fTileTextureDivisor=4.7500fSurfaceTileSize=2048.0000uNumDepthGrids=3 UPDATE:Ah! I see. Sorry you guys. The Enhanced Water v20 HDMI mod did gave me a problem, but it seems that the Ambient Occlusion shaders of OBGEv2 was the culprit of making underwater scenes ugly. It just made the underwater too...weird. I didn't notice when I had Enhanced Water v20 HDMI mod because it made the water too clear, like crystal. So, the "hijacking" of Enhanced Water v20 HDMI mod of the game's ability to launch was solved by a simple Wrye Bashed Patch rebuild, and the "ugliness" of underwater scenes was caused by Ambient Occlusion shaders. It weren't the shaders' fault; they were just doing what they were supposed to do: Ambient Occlusion (AO) Shaders:These shaders use stylised lighting to add depth and contrast to the scene, mainly by shadowing recesses. Two types of AO shader are available: Horizon-Based AO (HBAO) and Screen Space AO (SSAO). These are all SM3 shaders. It was the fogginess of underwater that made the underwater environments, when any Ambient Occlusion shaders are activated, ugly. Even the Screen Space Indirect Illumination (SSII) shader made the underwater environment weird. Edited February 19, 2011 by VGI
Hickory
Enhanced Water HDMI does not change anything while not installed. You need to check your Bashed Patch again, and be sure the UNCHECK the mod under 'Import Cells'.

Funny that you spend that day with a certain amount of anxiety (or worry), about a mod breaking your game, wracking your mind and soul about what to do later when you are in front of your PC again, and at the same time trying to obey the Bible's "Don't worry" command...and then later on the day, the problem gets fixed just like that....and you even find out that OBGEv2 is the culprit for making underwater environments "ugly" with any SSAO or similar shader active... Things gets solved, you know. I just hope it stays ok until I finish modding TES4. Am almost done. I'm scrapping my plans to include FCOM superpack...until at least I finish the main quests. That, or I move on to the next game in my Steam Library.
