Creating a Face between to objects

I'm currently trying to make/edit my first model for Fallout 3 in Blender, but when I push "F" with 2 objects that I want to join it says " UV/Face Select was removed. Editmode now allows UV editing, Add a UV layer or Unwrap (UKey)"...... Since I will be making my own UV's after I am done editing it, should I delete the UV's now to be able to make a face between 2 objects?

You don't seem to be making sense to me based on the terminology you are using.

When "joining objects", you select both while in OBJECT mode and press CTRL + J to join meshes. Only when separate objects are joined as one can you add geometry between them that links them together.

Then you go into EDIT mode and can then select one edge from each mesh and press F to create a face / plane between them.

If you have a UV Map for both objects before joining them, make sure they are both using the exact same material / texture...if not, you will need to join both textures into a single file and then adjust the UVs for both objects to fit the newly joined image.

But when you create new faces on an object that already has a UV map, any new face added will not be "link" to the same image. You will have to "unwrap" those new faces and associate them to the texture...or re-create the entire UV Map. That depends completely on you and your situation.
