BOSS start question

Never use OBMM after you have used BOSS. Do what you have to do with OBMM, run BOSS and then use either your shortcut, or use Wrye Bash.

It really doesn't matter. After running BOSS, the OBMM will use that load order. The Wrye Bash will use it, and the Oblivion launcher will use it too. Just use whichever you prefer.

@Hickory. My normal usage is BOSS then OBMM to make any manual changes needed. I also always start using the OBMM game launcher even if I have not either made any changes or run BOSS - never a problem. BOSS isn't perfect and is not always right. But it is the best autosort we have.

Thanks People! BTW Back when I only used OBMM, I could never get the mods to move up or down in the load order properly, when needed.

I appreciate that BOSS isn't perfect, Ben, and I too don't use every BOSS suggestion, in fact I have many personal mods that are not in the BOSS list that also need sorting, but that is what the BOSS userlist.txt is there for.

There is also the issue of background processes (ie. OBMM or Wrye Bash) hogging resources if the game is launched from them -- I know that Wrye Bash (or more correctly, Wrye Python) typically (on my system) has nigh-on 400MB of private memory space. But more than that, beginners to BOSS should be aware that any manipulating or editing in OBMM will override BOSS if used afterwards. That is my reasoning.
