Caldora mages dropped dead

I travelled from Vivec to Caldora via Mague Guild transporter, and when I stepped into the Caldora mague guild everybody dropped dead but two; nobody seen attacking them. Unfortunately the travel mague is dead so I cannot travel from Caldera any more (a pain since I visit the Creeper very often, and I only know how to recall to him but not how to get out of Caldera fast).

 

So, what/who killed the magues? Did I do it (I was not carrying any disease or rot)? And, can I resuscitate the pleasant and very helpful travel mague?

My first suggestion would be to load a previous save, as the solution below may interfere with some quests.

 

To bring an NPC back to life, open the console (~), click on the dead NPC, and type resurrect

 

I'm pretty sure this resets their inventory, so if you've sold them any unique items you wanted to get back later, take them from the corpse BEFORE you do this.

 

EDIT: I believe Almsivi and Divine interventions take you to Ald Ruhn/Fort Buckmoth. A short distance south of Caldera, Almsivi will take you to Balmora. Both of these have a Silt Strider dock and a Mages Guild.

Almsivi Intervention from Caldera will take you to Balmora.

Divine Intervention will take you to Ald-ruhn. (Cast Almsivi Intervention immediately afterwards to reach the town-propper instead of the fort outside of town.)

 

For this reason, I always put my Mark at Creeper, and then cast one of the other spells to move to House capitals, where you can access the major travel lanes.

Check what mods you have, I've never seen anything like this ... weird things have happened with mod conflicts. And yeah, reload an earlier save seems the best option. :glare:
