I like energy weapons combined with explosive: becouse, of the flamer and incenratore. The reason is the flamer and incenrater (both light and heavy) are affected by meldown perk. combined perks and armor and items that help reduce and increase explosive damage can turn your player into killer.

Your opinion is just as valid as anyone else's. If you prefer explosives, then that's what you prefer. Mods don't matter, just what your go-to weapon skill is is what matters for this poll.

Ok, well, just because the book says so doesn't really matter to this poll. This is to see what the players themselves think and like, not some dude in an office who writes for a living (not that there is anything wrong with writing for a living). If you prefer Guns, that's great but make sure it's really your preference because you enjoy it and not because of what someone told you should be your preference.

Ok. I even stated that I prefer guns. BEFORE I said something about the book. I have the book which gives ll the possible damages for every gun and its highest damage per second so, whether or not its some dude in a office or not, guns are better, cheaper and easier to find.

I perfer pyro weapons over most becouse the 50 percent increase in damage.

The flamer and incenerater are affeced by the meltdown perk.

The anti-matrial and grenade launchers ("mercy" is the best weapon) gets the 50% bonuse by pyromaniac by there incendary rounds: which will kill most enemys with a few shots.

The shikabab becomes a sword that deals a lot more damage becouse of the pyro perk pluse it is affected by heave handed trait and slayer trait; also, percing strike perk.

The encendary greanades are effected by all exploseve perks and the weapons are effected by fast shot are trigger disaple.

The charecter I made had fast shot for the weapon and heavy handed for the melee. I increase all my explosive and gave my charecter chem resestant and chemist, combined with gannon power armor. My charecter is leathal in all ranges, and my faverit partners is cass for her whisky rose perk and have her with the bush rifle. The other is ed-e for its long rang and close rang support. the pyro charecter is not stealth but can chew up enemys, espacialy light to medium armor indevidules in a hurry when swormed. The people i have at my back is fire support.

I know that pyro is listed under energy, but, flame base ammunition is also effected by the pyromaniace perk. meaning that 50 cal will jump from 120 damage to 150 to 160, and the incendary grenade rounds are also affected. i tested this out and when 25mm inc grenade rounds are add to weapon like mercy it turns it into a burner and a pulverizer. basicly for anti matrial rifle lovers. it turns it into one shot kills if not on hard. its better than the armor and match hand load rounds.

What the hell is a fire lance. Still we are talking about the skills not perks. If you didnt have those perks than the weapons would be useless. And even if you do not have a pyro perk a gun skill of 100 will gve a huge amount of damage increase. Plus without that high gun skill your chance of hitting a target is more unlikely. Plus most flame weapons require a high strength, break easily, are hard to find ammo for, and are costly when it comes to repairs. So again pyro isnt considered a skill its ether energy weapons or guns. So what your saying is that you like energy weapons but you like the anti material rifle with incenderary rounds. Pyro (and its amunition) isnt considered a skill. And when you play on normal the incenderary shots are not a one hit kill on tougher opponents. I hunt legionaries and have shot many prime decanus and veterens and they do not die in one shot becaue they have life of 250 on normal.

Guns by far. I've tried going mainly energy and it was annoyingly tough (though the de-nerfing mods may now fix that) and going mostly-melee was practically suicide.

By midway through the game my Courier is typically carrying:

  • The Ratslayer for sniping
  • That Gun (with de-nerfing mod) for one-on-one up close kills.
  • A shotgun (with Shotgun Surgeon perk) for dealing with armored targets, I prefer the small lever-action model.
  • A modded 10mm SMG for when you need to kill everyone in the room really fast.

I also like to have the Q-35 Matter Modulator (often in Veronica's inventory) for when guns just aren't doing the job. Then I carry a Machete, or Shishakabob even, for those times when I want to just hack someone to pieces.

FIrestorm01 - If you like Flame weapons the best, regardless of what perks you use, then Energy weapons would be your preference. If perks are the reason your prefer them then that is your prerogative. Everyone has a reason for their preference and I doubt you'd be the only one who prefers a weapon type because of the perks associated with it. So, it's all good. I am glad you shared your opinion on this topic, thanks.
