zegh8578
rats and such do not stutter, in fact i didnt encounter any problems untill i came across a wolf, but it was barely noticeable when i came to the rat quest, with the multiple mountain lions, the stutter almost ground the game to a halt.i have the quiet feet fix installed, is there some other more specific fix for this? ive played oblivion before on this computer, but had to uninstall everything, and ive clearly forgotten whatever fixes ive had installed before... TheMastersSon
Somewhere in oblivion.ini is a setting for # of simultaneous sounds. Reducing this helped on my old system (I forget the before/after #s) but lowering it too far caused crashes.

zegh8578
problem solved, i had "quiet feet" which apparently only covers horses.i needed the "complete quiet feet" which eliminates all animal sounds. whoevers in charge, feel free to lock or remove or whatever :]
