New vegas and Windows 7

fallout3 and new vegas both work fine on windows seven.

Fallout 3 dident work for me. The first time I played, I got to the 10th birthday and it crashed, and everytime after, I would start it up and it would crash. Thats why I'm asking if New Vegas will work. I dont want to waste my time. I know you said it does, but I know fallout 3 dident work fine, so forgive me if I dont hold too much truth to that statment. Its not just me either, Ive looked up fallout 3 and windows 7 and plenty of people have the same problems as I. I guess what I'm really asking is, how can I get New Vegas to work on Windows 7. I might just be one of the unlucky ones who cant get it and fallout 3 to work.

Don't blame Win7. many thousands of users are playing both FO3 and FONV on Win7 computers with no problems - including me. However if your particular machine has a problem with FO3, it will probably have the same problem with FONV as they use the same base game engine.

The biggest reason for it not working is not reading the documentation. Make sure your computer exceeds the minimum requirements. Then install the game OUTSIDE of the UAC protected 'program files' or 'program files(x86)'

For steam - REQUIRED for FONV, I recommend installing the steam client outside also - I use C:\Games\Fallout3 and C:\Games\steam (steam will automatically install FONV where it finds the steam client)

Well, I installed steam into program files(x86), so thats most likely why? But I had Fallout 3 on the Cd and I installed it in Program files (not in x86). I'll just have to take that leap of faith and hope it works.

Make a new directory, like C/games or something like that and install everything there. That's what I did.
