What mods should I begin with

Hey everybody!

I'm going to start playing FO3 till Skyrim comes out. I've been playing Oblivion and it's taken a long time find the mods to start the game with and I'm hoping someone might have some suggestions on what mods I should use to get started with.

I have a good computer and graphics quality is very important, so any graphics tweaks or enhancement utilities are a must.

My character will be a female and I prefer to have a companion with me.

I like to wear armor that is sexy but not too skimpy, after-all no one goes into battle or foraging in the nude or half naked.

I don't want a weapon thats uhber, but to start out with only a BB gun??????

I was very fond of the Goddess Store in Oblivion. One stop shopping makes for more time quest solving.

Also If there are any mods that have to go in at the start of the game cause they will crash a saved game I would appreciate a heads up about.

This is a lot to ask,I know! but If you have a lot of great mods in your game surely you'll want to share the coolness. :P

Is this your first time playing FO3?

If you like the Goddess Store you will most likely also like Ling's Finer Things.

if i understood you correctly, you are about to play FO3 for the first time, correct??

if so, do not use any mods

it is understandable that you want to jump right in, but i think you should learn the game a bit, before you start modding the hell out of it (not that it's a bad thing)

the key to successfully modding the game, and creating a great atmosphere is to understand what you would like to change in the game, and then make the changes through mods

if, however, you feel that you have played the game enough to start modding it, i would recommend you to use FWE and MMM

i would also strongly recommend BoE, if you don't mind the weapons looking more modern

EVE is also great, and adds some awesome equipment

WMK is a great mod, though not as useful if you have FWE or BoE (FWE unique weapons cannot be modified, and BoE weapons cannot be modified, though a nice patch was made)

there is one mod that looks amazing, yet i never got to test, and this is FoTM

it is a really large plugin, but it has quite a great deal of additions, and is now compatible with FWE, MMM, BoE, EVE etc

so you may want to take a look at that, as it looks really promising

wastelandassissin. Good point. I played the game when it came out, but no mods. Now I'm ready to play with mods. YeeeHaa :laugh:

id also add smthg I totally overlooked modding Oblivion was to add them slowly, not installing 20 or 50 or 100 in a week, cause youll never really know whats doing what.

Another thing, some of the best mods are really small or not rated that that high, but its personal tastes. First thing can think is to recommend if your using Dimonized Type3 or any other body mod, to also get Female Texture Mod and install the 4 humanhead dds' , but play it a while first, so you see the difference
