ever since the dead money patch my game has been broken due to ArchiveInvalidation not working as it should, ive reinstalled it more then 5 times and it doesnt not want to stay active. it refuses to stay active even if i leave the window open for the ArchiveInvalidation.exe i dont even think the activate button actually does anything now? ive also reinstalled FO NV and then reinstalled ArchiveInvalidation and nothing it's still broke at this point i dont think my game will run on this computer anymore unless i play with no mods.

Go to your fallout_default.ini in steam/steamapps/common/fallout new vegas and find SArchiveList and add ArchiveInvalidation.bsa.

Then go to bInvalidateOlderFiles and set it to 1.

Restart archive invalidation.

That should fix the problem.

Good luck.

i tried it but when i start the game my whole screen goes pink then it crashes. the one that you linked http://newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=37004 doesnt have a activate button like the other ArchiveInvalidation does, does it? you just copy and paste

SArchiveList=Fallout - ArchiveInvalidation.bsa, Fallout - Textures.bsa, Fallout - Meshes.bsa, Fallout - Voices.bsa, Fallout - Sound.bsa, Fallout - MenuVoices.bsa, Fallout - Misc.bsa

over

SArchiveList=Fallout - Textures.bsa, Fallout - Meshes.bsa, Fallout - Voices.bsa, Fallout - Sound.bsa, Fallout - MenuVoices.bsa, Fallout - Misc.bsa

then move the BSA file in to data but it just makes my screen pink. i guess im pretty boned

You know, I have similar issues, but slightly different. I run Dead Money but without any patch. Basically I have two steam folders (one which I download any updates and one that I have as a backup in case a update screws up something like what you mentioned with dead money).

At the moment I am using my backup steam folder, so I can still run FNV as before Dead Money came out, with the exception that I copy/pasted all of the DLC's data to the FNV folder, BSA files, .nam file and the ESM.

Now the DLC has been working smoothly, except for three things I just noticed.

I made a custom esm file that basically deploys Zombie Apocalypse Spawn Points to the Dead Money Mini-maps and then I run another two esm files that do the same but for the Vault 3 Minimap and Freeside.

It's my custom version of Zombie Apocalypse I run, ported from F3 and been working perfect the whole time before Dead Money, and still does with all other files that deploy Spawn Points to other maps, except those I mentioned.

Now, while in the Villa or Sierra Madre, all is well when those files are active, but once I return to the Wasteland NV map, odds things start to happen, like meshes missing, textures missing and so on, causing the game to become corrupted and I have to re-launch the game (does not corrupt my saved games, just the game in session and therefore allows no game-play to be saved for that time, until game is restarted).

However, when I turn those three files off, all is well once more and I can run the game without any of the mentioned problems related to meshes or textures.

It is as if those three files somehow mess with archive invalidated.

Odd thing is, two of those files ran fine before I installed Dead Money.

So my fix for the problem at the moment is, once I finish Dead Money and before returning back to the Mojave Wasteland, I save my game and disable those three files and then re-launch the game and save once more .

So far form what I tested over the course of 2 hrs, no meshes or texture glitches encountered or anything.

Guess I can only run those three Zombie Apocalypse optional files while present in the Dead Money Mini-map cells, although I deleted two of them, since they have nothing to do with Dead Money and I can't run them outside of Dead Money game-play.

Now does this all not sound screwed up?

I have looked over and over in TESnip and can't even find one problem in the data that could suggest a modding mistake.

So my technical problem remains a mystery for now.

Sorry for the long reply, but maybe it make you feel better that your not alone and that someone else (me) is having similar issues with no true solution so far :confused:

I found out from someone on nexus here that running too many mods can cause problems with the engine loading meshes and textures, and from what I tested, this seems true.

I was running at 160+ mods and disabled/removed about 38 of them and now meshes and textures are loading again correct as they should.

So it was not a issue with the files I modded, but the number of mods I was running, perhaps you have the same problem as me then and need to disable some.
