Making a New Enemy

Extract the fleshy super mutant meshes to the meshes/creatures/smspinebreaker director, but give them different names than the existing nif files (so they don't replace, see?)

Make a copy of an existing mutant by changing the formID.

Go to the model list tab on your new creature, and choose your fleshy super mutant model.

Repeat for every different creature you want to make.

If you want them to spawn in the wasteland with regular mutants, you will need to edit the level lists that generate those mutants. Or you can place them manually wherever you want.

This all assumes that the fleshy mutant mod has new meshes, and not just retextures. If that's the case, it diverges at step 4... you will want to search the forum or geck site for how to use texture sets, OR how to change texture paths in nifskope.

I have done this, and I learned how to do it in this thread:

If you want to make one or two types of new supermutants in this color, it is not too hard. You will need to know how to set up a basic "retexture", where you make a copy of an existing object and give the copy a new texture. The actual texture already exists in the fleshy supermutant mod. If you aren't familiar with retexturing please see the tutorials in the fallout3nexus mod talk FAQ thread; it all applies to FNV as well.

(edit: ninja'd, Quetzlsacatanango is the person who taught me in the above thread.)

(edit2: the fleshy mod only contains textures, so you need to copy the meshes yourself.)
