Purr4me
when choosing C:\ you can "direct it to C:\ games" and it will install to that path.Root ? C:\ IS Root and not a real good Idea but I think maybe it might make it's own directory. I don't understand why your having so much trouble ? Steam, yes, it can get complicated if things are messed up, you changed hard ware or other software changes like Windows 10 or 8.1I can show you a real crazy installed Fallout 3 on a lap top not designed to even process it let alone run the game, but it runs ! and zero faults,ON windows 10 64. With Live active too. zero updates or mods, just GOTY Steam version, no hack and slashed Bethesda patches running. But I own external USB drives and all my data for gaming gets installed to those... not much point here except the laptop can't handle the large amounts of data loaded on it. Cheap, really cheap.Shot goes here:http://s26.postimg.org/9k9px1guh/real_Deal_UK_Version.jpg On another hand, a Toshiba laptop with default OEM Windows 8.1 absolutely refused to allow this game to run and it's a much bigger machine. (N) means it's slated for UK, and I test all versions, not knowing the real cause of a problem due to differences requires to have all systems available for testings things. As long as the data stays on that external drive, I never need to re-install the game when messing with equipment, steam always fix's it with a simple launch of steam.... I can run my games on any machine due to them being installed externally. Root installs is hard to deal with if there is the slightest chance the OS is permissive crazy. .Net does all of that, .Net is not required TO be installed on windows 10, it's already active and game ready...so, some things asking you "you must install this or that?" ....."DON'T 1 ", because xbox controls are now Embedded into windows 10, the software for the games was written long ago and you can bypass installing bad additional software now Obsolete. so , this is why I have to wonder why your having this much difficulty? Permissions ? Pr e-fectching data? bad uninstall / Left behind data the system will force back on...? something there not right some place. so I can offer screen shots only.
