OK will do! Also I'm creating a vanilla save file from the previous save states I used that I hopefully didn't have any errors except for the one every time you press f8 to quickload twice on the same save state things start to bug out....Thats okay hopefully?

Planning to move onto step five

2 tools so far are exactly whats needed I have given to direct you in the right direction.

1 tool posted is the direction to follow and see what becomes of the results?

Ideally, if taken as posted, you will learn some things important, things not know off hand, or simply ignored.

keeping the knowledge grouped in the right order is important too.

Step by step, study the problems as they occur ,back up and redo things if in doubt.

Fomm ....21 has in it as it is now, the one I posted here a way to reverse things.

It also "can" install the DLC packages as I directed...treat them as a mod...most mods do not require DLC content to be installed.

this is an avenue you can take...just keep an eye on steam, it will replace missing data when your online and throw you curve balls, unexpected things pop up because you might forget it does all of that....so. then these are simply moved out of the way.

Due to uncontrollable things, steam can not get involved in games directly as to install mods, the current set up involves a workshop thingy and does not comply with what we need so that's out.

For discussions purposes only is all that's about...so you know.

Don't forget steam is always watching your data.

Fomm give the user direct control over files ,though these files used in this tool are direct deposited into the data directory and does overwrite files.

It's important to keep watch and choose not to over write things at first...there is choice, but with choice comes consequences...not always good or bad, just things show up better when you keep in mind these things and are looking for direct effects that take place.

All I can do is share what i know, Guide you in a direction to a result your after.

when you get a chance read the description here (http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/3388/?)

On that page, there are icons, I want you to click on the required icon, I want you to understand Why SOooo many people are having difficulties here.

They simply do not read things are Unaware of these things.

It's a staircase to game hell is what it is, and you would think the stairs are going up? uh..no, they go down just like the game does, precisely why it does too.

but.LOL once you get it ,you own it babe. it gets to be a lot more fun knowing before hand what you need to do.

I can only help to a point...there are some things you need to learn on your own too. ok?

Go too C:\user\(username)\apps\fallout3...see if it is still there?

if so, delete the fallout3 folder, then browse down to the temp folder you will find in there and remove all that crap.

please just delete data inside that temp folder.

reboot, go back into steam and update the game "fallout3", it will now reinstall clean.

that's step 9

PPM: no stay online , hun my box is full so I need to delete the conversations there cuz I can't respond.

since there "may be" some confusion due to the packages involved here (Steams GOTY Edition) means your going to end up with all of it.

the list i posted deals with retail versions and also deals with steam versions...it is complete as far as retail is concerned.

My after thought here is foresight, I know what's coming next...for that , I apologize so I'll place here a screen shot showing what a data folder looks like with raw Vanilla Fallout 3 only.

it's important you back step to the area of that list and compile the DLC content so only what shown in this shot is visible.

once you are here, then you set the system "steam" to off line mode. and run the launcher direct and set the game up as IF only fallout3.

Fo3 is a small game, to me, it's very simple game...not complicated at all...old? yeah very old, release date was 2009 but what's in it is a heck of lot older.

Problems with companies, they use whats was once was till it's milked all it can be, but that's another story, not for here.

so you like fallout 3 do you? well now, how do you like the world spaces ?

LOVE fallout 3, one of the best open world games out there OH wait....I forgot the bugs...Oh right thats the only thing that bugs me in this game *ignore terrible pun * and probably one of the many reasons why I tell myself to stop playing it..World spaces are done right for an open world game unlike destiny :) ImO
