New kind of Player Home

This is a request for two mods in one, one of which had already been done for FO3.

 

There are a lot of boarded up houses out there and I'd like to find a mod that will allow one to take down those boards and have your own EMPTY house. No furniture, no lights.

 

The other part of this mod would be a shop/add items to current NPCs where you can buy furniture and place it inside the empty house and lock it in position wherever you want. Tables, chairs, beds, cabinets, lamps, etc. This would be very much like the shop next to Megaton that was made for Fallout 3.

 

You could even make a little mini quest or two for making improvements, such as gathering parts you need to restore a generator (which I've seen in some houses), restore/add lighting, restore/add plumbing, just overall cleaning up the house and so forth.

 

If someone were to take this up, I could write the story for the side quest. I'm not familiar with making mods, so I can't actually script anything.

the thing about making a house that you buy the furniture for is that it would take so much scripting and tedious geck modifications that a person would go insane when they are done, but i may be wrong, all i know is its a pain in the @ss just making a small house mod... maybe some1 will be up for the task though

I think you mistake what it was I was requesting. The house I was requesting was just a purely empty house. Specifically, I would have liked to see the option to tear down the boards on the boarded up houses and make use of one of them. Then we could decorate it using something similar to this: http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=8683

 

Even if my request as a whole cannot be completed, I'd still like to request a simple empty house like the two story houses in FO3. But it MUST be empty of all items. No couches, tables or anything of the like. I could just mix in Wasteland Defender for furniture.

Perhaps not, but I do know that you should examine its workings anyways since a mod like this would benifit from a similar system, just a bit scaled down. =P

To the OP, do you mean have the player choose any boarded up house as his/her own?

 

It would be a bit tedious, but you could have one interior cell to represent all the boarded up houses, but you'd have to place a disabled door linked to your interior cell onto every abandoned house. You could turn the mailboxes into activators so the player can activate the mailbox to move into that house.

 

it'll be tedious but not impossible.
