Talonvore
None of the files come in an OMOD format, you have to do some prep work to make them OMOD ready. Just follow the steps that Striker was kind enough to identify and highlight and the mod will be OMOD ready. x1mp0
Hi guys. Uh.. Talonvore, first i have to thank you for going through all this trouble to make this guide. It's truly awesome. (I know this thread is 2+ months old, but I seriously have nowhere else to turn to) Anyway, I'm afraid i have a problem, and the worst part is, I don't know exactly what is going on. I have followed all the instructions to the letter, yet when i launch the game and go to the character creation screen, it only shows the normal races, no new textures, (it shows the original ones from the game) and it's like i haven't done anything at all. I tried doing it all from the start, and all I got were the exact same results, with the difference that all characters in the creation screen had really dark toned faces (still no new textures or races) and when I made a random player out of frustration, I noticed that all female characters had no hands, in addition to their dark toned faces as well. I'm at my wits end. I'm gonna lay down some of my possible mistakes (which are probably stupid) just in case that you can see where I went wrong and point me to the right direction. Well, first, when i finish creating the omod and activating it, it loads fine (shows load successful or w/e) but the mod won't appear in the mod list to the left. Is that alright? Also, does the file "Oblivion.esm" (Master file) have anything to do with this? I have it unchecked all the time, but my other mods work just fine with it. And what about the "Data" folder on my desktop? Should I move it to the game's directory and delete the old "Data" file or something?Help a fellow gamer please? :( Edited May 2, 2011 by x1mp0
DarJee
Hi x1mp0I'm trying to follow the guide myself, at a first glance it looks plain and simple. The following are ideas that may point you to the right direction.I have followed all the instructions to the letter, yet when i launch the game and go to the character creation screen, it only shows the normal races, no new textures, (it shows the original ones from the game) and it's like i haven't done anything at all. Perhaps this is the normal behavior, probably the texture replacement involves only the game, not the racemenu. I could tell you more after my first attempt.when I made a random player out of frustration, I noticed that all female characters had no handsThis is encouraging. Make sure you have the original HGEC body replacer by RAIAR installed. In fact, some replacers have tweaked hands or feet, and that could cause the error (mine being only a hypothesis).Well, first, when i finish creating the omod and activating it, it loads fine (shows load successful or w/e) but the mod won't appear in the mod list to the left. Is that alright?Well, NO. When you create an OMOD either adding a folder or an archive, it's placed in "OBLIVIONPATH\obmm\mods" folder. It also show up immediately in the OBMM left panel (unless you have lots of mod installed, so that you can only see it moving the scrollbar). Also, does the file "Oblivion.esm" (Master file) have anything to do with this? I have it unchecked all the time, but my other mods work just fine with it.Unchecked? Mark that checkbox at once. Go!And what about the "Data" folder on my desktop? Should I move it to the game's directory and delete the old "Data" file or something?I suggest you delete that folder to save space, but only after you managed to get a WORKING omod from it. DarJee
The guide was extremely useful, the omods seem to be ok. Thanks Talonvore!
Frostworn
The tutorial does not say which folder ("Data" on the desktop or "Ozmo's Full Package") should be selected. Since the full package is 10.4 Gb, I selected the "Data" folder. The textures loaded fine on the existing toon I made, but the new races won't appear when I create a new toon. How do I make them show? I selected all of them in the install tool and applied the changes. Also, the facial textures aren't loading properly. There are a lot of artifacts in the form of small, multi-colored pixels on the face only (I have oiled 2 selected). I made the face texture package its own mod and loaded it after the full package. Update: I just noticed that the texture change stops low on the neck. It looks like the toon was covered up to very low on the neck and left out in the sun. The new textues don't seem to be loading on the head at all. Edited July 22, 2011 by Frostworn
Fatslapper
I know this is an old thread, but I seem to be having a problem that I didn't see mentioned already. I followed this fantastic guide from start to finish and I'm running into an error on the last step. When I create the OMOD file, at the very end I get an error message in OBMM that says "An error has occured while creating the omod file. Data error (cyclic redundancy check)" What am I doing wrong? I tried changing the compression levels and type but I always get this same message. What can I do?! Thanks in advance!

X1mp0, did you install the HGEC body replacer mod? You have to install the HGEC body replacer mod for these textures to work.As for the mod appearing in OBMM it should appear in the list on the right hand side of obmm. It will not appear on the lefthand side where all the esp files are listed as there is no esp for Ozmos hi rez texture pack. The data folder i would recommend you putting inside another folder labeled "Ozmos Texture pack OMOD ready" or something to that extent in case you ever need to reinstall Ozmo's texture pack fow whatever reason. That way you wont have to go through the whole install process again. You can just simply point OBMM to the data folder inside "Ozmos Texture pack OMOD ready" and let OBMM do all the work for you. As to the Oblivion.esm box i always leave it unchecked and have never had an issue. The tutorial does not say which folder ("Data" on the desktop or "Ozmo's Full Package") should be selected. Since the full package is 10.4 Gb, I selected the "Data" folder. The textures loaded fine on the existing toon I made, but the new races won't appear when I create a new toon. shadowofdavid
I installed the HGEC body replacer, and followed everything step by step. Honestly. Even redid the whole process twice. I have a top of the line computer, so that's not the issue. Built it myself >.<My problem is, NOTHING changes. The OBMM didn't have any issues, or warnings, and everything is activated. Help perhaps? Maybe I did something wrong with the HGEC?
