Kinetiq Posted January 25, 2007 Share Posted January 25, 2007 Basicly, i put my hole thief light armour outfit in a contanier in the shack at the waterfront of the imperial city, went off and did 2 or 3 missions/quests and came back to change my heavy armour outfit to the thief one and it had gone :wacko: , a long with a couple realy good swords!?? Gutted :( I just wanted to know Where i can store items permantly without them disapearing after a few days??... I left the red robe in the best defence armour shop at the start of playing the game now many,many hours of play later i go there and its still where i left it?! o_O im guessing when you leave your items in a shop it saves them there forever? If so, are you talking about the crate just outside the door, or a container inside the actual house? The interior of a purchased house should be, in all respects, safe. Thieves are not able to sneak in and steal anything from your home (the only time I ever had an uninvited guest, aside from Dark Brotherhood or Thieves Guild messengers, concerned a certain guardsman who wanted to kill me). The crate just outside your Waterfront house, however, is like most other crates in public view. A lot of public containers will respawn with new items after a few days (erasing anything they held previously) but there are certain containers out there that could serve as storage items— basically those chests that you'll never be able to gain new loot from ever again. Simple example: the chest that Jauffre unlocks for you at Weynon Priory when you ask for assistance at the first stage of the Main Quest. If you empty its contents, it never refills. Kinetiq Posted January 26, 2007 Author Share Posted January 26, 2007 Ah, ok yeh i get it, it wasnt the shack that you buy it was the one that is free to sleep in, i think its called the abandend shack? yeh thats it. i used a barrel in there, and it would explain if items respawn in contaners over a certain period of time why the things i left wernt there. So weynan priory chest is a place i can store the items whithout them respawning, great i havnt got enough gold to buy a house yet, but when i do purchase one, storing items in there wont respawn right? And any ideas why the item i left in the best defence shop have remained for ages without disapearing? is it if you drop items anywhere they will remain there forever? You can also drop anything on the floor in a bought house. The cheapest house is a small shack in the IC Waterfront district which costs 1000 gold. It can be bought in the district where you can buy many things... :happy: And any ideas why the item i left in the best defence shop have remained for ages without disapearing? is it if you drop items anywhere they will remain there forever?I don't know if it'll stay there forever. Did you drop it on the floor or put it in a container? yes, i dropped it on the floor, then positioned it on the counter using the grab button, so its positioned with all the rest of the items/clothing for sale. wether that makes a difference i dont know, i left it there after 8 hours of play time, 32 hours of playtime later its still there?! o_O :wacko: :D p.s i just went to buy the shack on the waterfront in the commerce office, and shes charging 2000 gold for it? where can you buy the shack for 1000 gold? However, i don't think it is a good idea to leave your items lying everywhere on the ground. I don't buy it that often... Maybe shops don't reset, but dungeons will. So don't drop your items in a dungeon or it'll be gone in three days.
