Hickory
Try turning off AntiAliasing. And if that doesn't work, use Fraps for your screenshots.
dragonalumni
I just had this problem today and I found your question via google, but since I'm a member here I came back to answer your question after I found the answer myself. If not for you, then for the next guy who uses google. problem: Widows Photo Viewer can't open can't open screenshots. (I had this issue on Fallout NV, but Oblivion uses the same engine) my solution: After changing settings from low to medium and enabling more effects, screen shots work normally. advice: turn up and turn on more settings, tweak it until it works. JDFan
Happens on some systems due to the screens being captured before all post processing is done on the screen - easiest fix is to just use FRAPS for taking screenshots - since it may take awhile to figure out exactly what settings need changing to fix it and with Fraps the screens are taken afterwards so they come out fine using it. (Plus Frpas works when AA is enabled which the in game screenshooter does not !) Edited January 25, 2012 by JDFan
pahero
I found this post with google and managed to solve it. I know this is a very old post but I found a solution for this: use a resolution in which both numbers are mutiples of 4 I was using 1366x768, and the screenshots got screwed, with 1360x768 they work fine. I only know that because Ragnarok Online have a similar problem and by seeing your picture, I noticed the similarities, so I fixed it the same way I fixed that in RO. Basically you helped me help you.
