paladinultima
As the title states. i ran into an issue recently I have been trying to add or better yet get to a point where I could add and remove my mods again on my game. I'm not sure when it happened as i have been off an on the game for a while now so never occurred to me just what I could have installed to cause this but for some reason I cannot run any mod other than the current list I have without the game immediately crashing. This even goes with mods that I know ffor a fact I had on there before and just took off ( ex: daedric horse armor, Unique Companions, certain companion) Stuff that has very minor conflicts. Anybody have any Ideas? i would really Really like to run the update for Curse of Hircine and a few other mods and armors I have found.
Hickory
for some reason I cannot run any mod other than the current list I have without the game immediately crashing. That sounds like you have reached the limit (255) for the number of mods and bsa files in your data folder, and that limit applies whether the mods are active or not. paladinultima
Crap i never knew there was a damn ceiling. So pretty much unless i remove a mod from the data folder itself i cant alter this list at all? I mean I know a few mods i should go ahead and just do away with. Im still lost a to how that would cause a CTD if im deactivating a few mods?? i'll give it a try ( looking at laptop now)
Hickory
The game was not designed to handle any more data files (esp, esm, bsa) than that. Remamber that the game processes ALL aforementioned data files when it starts up, no matter whether they are active or not, so don't forget to clean out any unused bsa files lurking in there, too.
