Removing original wasteland object LOD

Alright I've figured out how to completely generate objects in the GECK successfully. But now I can't quite figure out how to remove the original vanilla object lod so i can replace a part of the wasteland with another ruined city from far away. When I delete the objects, they only disappear in when your in that cell. But the lod reference is still there in game from far away and doesnt go away when I regenerate object lod. I can see the generated objects and everything, but the original trees and highway ruins are still there and stick out like a sore thumb!

 

I followed the Geck wiki instructions to delete old lod files from several locations, aswell as the lodsettings for the original worldspcae, but everything is still there and I dont know what I'm doing wrong?

 

How do you regenerate and remove objects in the original fallout 3 wasteland worldspace?
