Septim741
I just had a great idea. I want to start a debate about milk. What kind of milk do you drink? Whole? Soy? 2%? But what makes this a debate, is this. What type of milk is best in terms of health, or which tastes best? I going to go ahead and start this by saying that whole milk is the best in terms of health and tastes much better than any other type of milk that I've had. I would have to agree with you about the taste bit, but I have to be honest. I have no idea which is healthier. I know that whole milk has more fat in it which is good because I lift weights and I need all the fat and protein that I can get.
Abramul
If you get used to a particular type, the other types taste weird.
Povuholo
If you get used to a particular type, the other types taste weird.Obvious, isn't it? I always drink whole milk. I don't really care about the fat because I'm at the minimum healthy weight (Perhaps even a little below) anyway. And it's not that much fat. Switch
Semi-skimmed here... I just like the taste. Skimmed is just like mildly flavoured water, and whole milk is so creamy it can get a sort of odd aftertaste to it I find. Plus it is pretty fatty. I guess it's like Abramul says... if you're not used to it other milks just taste weird. I know they say all about this Omega-3 milk being uber healthy and such... good for your heart and all that. Really it's just a new gimmick to try and get you to buy their milk. It'll be some amazing anti-cancer solution next year. I don't personally fancy stuff from fish in milk, thanks. :P
Vagrant0
You forgot goat milk. I don't touch that cow stuff, too many hormones and additives. As for soy, that's for hippies and vegitarians who don't know a damn thing about proper nutrition. So what if I need need permission from my town, and have to milk it fresh every morning, atleast I know where it came from.
Stampede
Yeah, soy milk really is terrible. It tastes like wet cardboard.
IamBatosai
Yeah, soy milk really is terrible. It tastes like wet cardboard. I'm not a vegitarian or vegan, but vanilla soy milk is actually really good.
Povuholo
Whatever milk it is people like, I think we all agree on what is the worst milk. Mother's milk. I heard that if you give a baby something else he will never drink it again.
karkarinus
Whole, fresh, and preferably from Devon. Mmmmm! Out here in the south of Spain we're hard-pushed to get fresh milk at all, and what we can get either has no flavour, or tastes of egg or cardboard. What nobody has mentioned is UHT. Pretty much all milk sold in Spain is UHT, and varies quite a bit from brand to brand. IMO it's all crap, with the only advantage of not having to buy it every day, and it not going off quickly. One of thing I really miss about Blighty is the milk. It sounds stupid, but you really don't know what you've got till you've gone without it for a while. If anyone's coming out this way soon, be sure to bring me one of those 8-pinters from Tesco's :D
