dragonwizard67
I am a newbie at mods... I want to use them. don't know how. Someone told me to download a mod manager, but I don't know how to use it. I have the Oblivion Mod Manager and I really want to add mods to my Elder Scroll game. I have no clue on how you use the manager to place mods into the game. So, until someone helps me... I'm stuck without mods. Could someone please help me with this! Thank you!
tnguye3
You don't really need the Mod manager, it just makes things easier, especially if you want to uninstall mods which overwrite certain files etc.Usually when you download a Mod, you'll have a "DATA" file and a file with a .esp extension. All you do is put the DATA file in your Oblivion directory and the .esp file into the DATA folder e.g. C:\Program Files (x86)\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\DataConfirm when it asks you about replacement. Afterwards launch the "OblivionLauncher" and click on "Data Files"Look for the .esp file which you just inserted and tick it. Click OK. Play and have fun. Edit: If you are planning to install big mods such as The Lost Spires, the Oblivion Manager is recommended as some mods will be installed in OBMM format (or something like that). You're also able to manage mods more easily and it's easier to uninstall the mods, as simply "deleting" files can really mess up your game (unless you're just using armor and cloth mods).
