Return and fix up the Sierra Madre

When I think of Ghost People I imagine that their suits are some kind of modified Y-17 Trauma Override Harness that keep people alive no matter how bad the mutations caused by the cloud are and that they are in constant pain that dulls their cognitive functions and makes them act feral towards anyone who isn't one of them. Killing them could be thought of as an act of mercy in that respect.

Actually it you can find one of the Ghost people suits in OWB and wear it yourself.

They aren't trauma suits.

Perhaps once the cloud is gone you could release them from their suits, relieving them of that pain, and allowing them to be free.

Well Morgwynn and I are talking about their release via death. I don't think they can be freed from the suits (without killing them) unless you have some *extraordinary* means. The suit and person have become something of a symbiotic organism that is nothing like the original person.

"Dog says that they have pockets of pressurized gas inside them, which explains why blood and yellow fluid spray at apparent high pressure when they are injured. Also, they are immune to fire due to their mutations and despite virtual immortality, they can die if one of their limbs is severed, showing a universal mutation from which everything is connected to each other, not just the brain with the other organs, causing direct death if a member is removed."

Their mutation is so extreme and bizarre taht they'v become a wholly new organism dependent on their freakish, toxic ecosystem (I don't believe they can exist outside of the cloud).

One could say that OWB might have some insight into restoring the ghost people, but I think it's a stretch considering how much they have mutated and the fact taht OWB was treating the suits and toxic cloud as a experiment (and I suspect teh results surprised them).

On the whole I get teh impression the ghost peeps are irredeemably altered/corrupted, and there is not happy ending for them in the future.

Hmm. Drat. Ok, so then genocide of the Ghost People, clear up the cloud, hire in contractors, deal with all the headaches of that (supplies, labor disputes, etc. :D ) , deal with all the headaches Mr Sinclair introduced into the systems, hire employees to do the things the holograms aren't already doing (chefs, etc), find merchants willing to haul stuff out to the SM, and get it open for business. :D
