Thanks, Arthmoor. Of course there is a good chance something is there, but most probes on consumers are automated or amateur, or both. So I still think stealth and NAT are good. Generally they are going to be trying to find a lot of computers, not just yours. In that context, a minute is a very long time.

 

evilneko, I agree with you that security software which bogs the computer down too much is not very useful. When the software is too intrusive or slows the system too noticeably, users eventually just disable it.
