Keanumoreira
The gold bird In the garden I came to walk,To gaze and smile at the blooming flock. When all at once I approached a birch,And atop its branch the gold bird did perch. I admired its voice, as soft as strings,Its musical hum my heart does sting. Its feathers as golden as a soft daffodil,The joy if its presence myself shall fill. And when it dives into the air,All the world I have lost to care.I sit and I watch as it dances about,Waiting, oh waiting, for the spring to sprout. But when the winter shall begin to crawl,And when the leaves shall start to fall…I will sit and watch that birch,For one day soon the gold bird shall perch. Dedicated to my good friend, who inspired me to write this... Edited March 9, 2011 by Keanumoreira
