jcdenton2012
OK, I have a great troubleshooting problem. The GECK... after 3 days of LOD generation for a massive terrain mesh for San Francisco, and some tweaking to the landscaping... decided to flatten all of the actual terrain all on its own. Now, I have two choices, install an older esp (with significant re-alterations to make... again), or redo all the terrain meshes by hand... Both of these options illicit the same reaction from me, "F#CK YOU!! I'M NOT DOING IT!!" I have numerous bak files under backup which corrects the issue before the terrain was flattened. How do I use those? How do I install them, more to the point? I ask because... the mod was practically done, and now... I'm kind of pissed off because of all the crap that I had to go through to get San Francisco done.
SKYZOO
Easy three steps here... 1. Move/drag the problematic ESP to a newly created folder on your desktop, or just to the desktop period. It needs to be out of your data folder for the next two steps. (I recommend a new folder, so that you can store this ESP, even if it is problematic, as it will not be returning to your data folder at all) 2. Look at the dates of the files in Backup, and under "date modified" select the most recent edit before you did LOD and experienced problems. It should read something like this:MyMod.esp.0.bakMyMod.esp.1.bakMymod.esp.2.bakEtc. Etc.The number indicates the last recorded save from the edit, so check the modification dates to your problem ESP to be sure it is from BEFORE you tried to LOD. (They range between 0 and 9, with the highest number listed being the most recent backup usually, but be cautious of what I said above) 3. Copy (Not Move/Drag) the most recent one you selected to your Data folder. Now rename it, removing everything after MyMod.ESP (so remove the .X.bak from the end, X being whatever number it was.) Now open the ESP, and it should be in the most recent (as far as backups go) state of creation, prior to LOD creation. jcdenton2012
Oh thank god!! You have no idea how happy I am to hear this... OK, I'll do this later tonight and then... if I'm lucky, have San Francisco up in two more days.
