DeathWarrior
With my old hard drive and Windows XP Service Pack 3 (32-bit), dual monitors worked fine. But with my new 1.5TB hard drive which I installed Windows 7 64-bit on, Oblivion will only work when I have my second monitor disabled, otherwise it just crashes on startup. Any way I can get dual monitors to work with Oblivion in Windows 7 64-bit? Edited March 10, 2011 by DeathWarrior
Hickory
Delete your oblivion.ini and restart the game with OblivionLauncher.exe to reinitialise your hardware and settings.
DeathWarrior
That didn't work. Oblivion runs fine with just one monitor but if possible I want to be able to have both turned on. Fallout 3 runs fine with two monitors so it's just an Oblivion problem.
buddah
Try changing the resolution of the game, use the same native resolution as the monitor you are using. I had the same issue.
bben46
Works fine for me. I just wish I could use both monitors in the game - keep Active game on #1 and inventory or something else on #2. I tried spreading the game across both monitors, but having the 1.5 inch bar right where my cross-hair is was a major problem. Now, I usually power down the second monitor while playing. And if for some reason I need to go on the internet, pause the game, alt-tab out and use the second monitor for what I need. WinXP crashed better than 90% of the time when I alt-tabbed then tried to return. Win7 has very little problems with it.
