Super-Modded Fallout Playthrough

Hello... I'm not fond of spamming but I feel I should make a post here every once in a while to keep this thing afloat... right? I mean, I'll keep doing this because I enjoy it, but getting some new people to watch would always be nice.

I don't even know if many people care much for New Vegas anymore to be honest... Everyone's off playing Fallout 4... Which is ridiculous to be honest. That game did not even hold a candle to New Vegas.

But anyway, we recently finished the DLCs for New Vegas and are moving on to quest mods. Next is Boulder Dome.

I recently finished the Boulder Dome mod, highly recommended. But there was an annoying CTD for me in one zone of the new worldspace, it's where the BOS scribes are with their terminal overlooking the ghouls, every time I would fast travel in that zone or approach those scribes I would CTD. I found an easy fix though, approach the scribes until you can see them in the distance, then open the console, target the first one and type 'kill' (without the quotes) followed by enter, then type 'resurrect' (without the quotes) followed by enter. do the same thing for the second one. Since I did that not a single crash anymore, I guess somehow their packages or scripts where caught in a loop of death making me ctd, resetting them as i did restored them. So if you don't CTD all the better but if it happens there you know what to do.

Oh really? Thanks for the advice! I'll definitely keep that in mind. I tried looking for information about Beyond Boulder Dome online, but honestly the only thing I could really find was people talking about it or videos. So I worry we might accidentally not do all the quests or locations without some type of walkthrough. Anyhow, we're not that far in yet, so I'll keep it in mind in the future.

(Btw, our first episode of Boulder Dome comes out next Monday)

Any other quest mods you might recommend? Sadly we're only able to fit in so many due to load order limitations.

Well, the three New Vegas Bounties mods, The Inheritance, Deimos, saxon's quest pack, the new bison steve hotel, for the enclave, the New York mod, city of adventurers redux all come to mind, and of course if you like puzzles all the Puce Moose mods are great. Those I can comment on since I played them but I still have to install and play that Christmas mod :)

I have most of those minus a few. If you don't mind me picking your brain (while I actually have someone to talk to on this thread), I'll say why I passed on them, and perhaps you can give me your thoughts from the point of view of someone whose played them?

I passed on the New Bison Steve Hotel mod because it to me just seemed like one of those "you run it and take it over and turn it nice" mods, kinda like Run the Lucky 38. Impressive, sure. But with Run the Lucky 38 I found myself incredibly rich, spending some time to build up the place, and then just being done, going what next? Am I wrong? Maybe I'm just being picky. (Honestly if I could I'd just download them all. Urgh the ~130 esp limit!)

For the Enclave sounded cool... but it warns of conflicts with Searchlight airport. And let's just say in our playthrough there's a huge alien spaceship landed in front of the main building. So I figured that was enough of a conflict to pass. Is it? I mean theoretically, it could be an Enclave base that just happens to have an alien ship in front of it, yes?

The New York one, eh. I have the Rockwell duo that takes to Vermont. They're both in the same vain I think. You try Rockwell Descent or Pursuit?

Quite frankly I didn't give the Puce Moose ones much of a chance. The puzzles good?

I had to pass on the Christmas one. Unfortunately way too many conflicts with other mods. : /

I still have to try out the Rockwell mods, concerning the Bison Steve Hotel, I think it's really good, the focus is more on the quests while having the Casino restored is only a nice bonus, the player doesn't interfere with operations like in Run the Lucky 38, but rather provides Steve the means to rebuild the casino by doing the quests. Also as a nice bonus, it contains Buck's place, one of the nicest player homes for FNV, you can earn it during the quests and it has it's own private vendor, several utilities and even statue mounts to put mannequins on with your gear.

For the Enclave is pretty much a must have if you're an enclave fan, and for people who didn't like the enclave you can play it anyways as the Enclave faction you join is a breakaway faction from the evil ones and they have more noble goals

if the ufo you have at searchlight airport is added by the Monster Wars mod then it should be compatible as I run both and I had no problems, though maybe I disabled the ufo by clicking on it and disable it in the console, I honestly don't remember. if it's another mod that added it then I have no idea. Also there's an alternative Enclave mod NWCE but I couldn't try it out as it conflicts badly with For the Enclave, maybe if I ever remove the latter I will try it also.

Thanks for the information. The UFO was from Monster Wars, it turns out. Thanks! So, I am seriously considering adding either Bison Steve Hotel or For the Enclave. It however means sacrificing a mod we already have. I'll go through them and make my decision. Please don't be disappointed however if I can't find anything to spare.

Thanks for the recommendations!
