TBSteve
Well I figured it was worth redoing my modded FNV once I got Windows 10 up and running...So I am going through gopher's tutorials and mod clinics, installing what I'd like here and there (same as I had before). NO problems anywhere except for one thing, and I can't figure it out...4GB FNV loader will not load AT ALL. I have tried all the basic fixes...Nothing. For some reason I can load the game up without issue from the regular NVSE loader. I was under the impression 4GB HAD to be the loader you go from? Anybody else experiencing any issues? QBit71
Hm, I had some trouble with running FO3 and FNV on Windows 10, but now it works fine. For FO3, I installed GFWL, because it's a "halfway guarantee" that the game will run. We install so many third Party Tools for different things, so why not here. The funny thing is, as I walk through the Windows 10 Troubleshooting, the OS opens the link to the latest and last version of GFWL. And it works...no crashes with nearly 90 Mods. Maybe it works fine, because I didn't install heavy gamechanging mods like FWE, MMM and EVE. The only thing which is not working is the Fullscreen fake Mod, but it a small cost. With FNV, I have some more problems. At last, as I changed the FalloutPrefs.ini, because it Looks the same like the Fallout.ini. The first time you run the game, the FalloutPrefs.ini is smaller. You can type the Graphic Card in there. When you install all the mods, and you try to run the game...the FalloutPrefs.ini seems to change and looks similar to the Fallout.ini. I put the 4GB Loader directly in the folder where the EXE of the game is, and I can say...no problem. Does the game start or does it crash, when you use the 4GB Loader? fraggster
TBSteve, Qbit71, I've read in other places that in order for MO and FNV4GB to run, you should uninstall the Xbox app in Windows 10. I did that and FNV4GB runs flawlessly. Now if I could only get my load order to run the same way.
TBSteve
QBit - Interesting...I haven't began tackling my FO3 setup yet as I fixed FNV and have been enjoying a nice play-through. When I initiate the 4GB loader from my game folder, it crashes. Screen goes black as if it will start up, then says Fallout has stopped working bla bla bla. I basically just switched to NVSE loader, which from my understanding you aren't supposed to do but it works so whatever!!! Quite odd. bombshell - I haven't tried the older games, but I got my FNV working well. Just minor tweaking required. I cannot attest to Fallout 3 but I highly doubt there will be any issues, I have un-modded games about as old as FO3 that work fine! frag - That is very strange....I will have to give that a shot. I just don't see why it would effect the FNV4GB loader....
QBit71
@TBSteveI only get the black screen in FNV when I install an ENB. Maybe it's the d3d9.dll that causes the problem. But I can live with that...I use Dynavision and the nVidia's DSR instead. It's funny, I think you can run FNV or FO3 with the same settings, the same OS and the same hardware on different PCs and you get different issues. I think the game engine got its own life. TBSteve
Haha agreed. I've gotten FNV to work great, only have rare crashes but most likely load order so I'm messing with LOOT. FO3, however, I have been unable to start AT ALL :(
MotoSxorpio
GFWL...woot. HAH. Windows 10 isn't for the gamer. Its for the people who own several internet connected devices so that they are all synced up. Too bad it won't work for enthusiasts and hardcore gamers with rigs they spent thousands on. Slipstream an installation of Windows 7, if you have it...update and backup it up. Eventually, we'll have to run games thru VM on Ubuntu.....
