1 model, different glowing effects?

So, I'm trying to get glowing onto a model I'm working on. In the .nif file, there are 4 separate NiTriStrips objects (with more on the way once I separate the arms etc). Problem I've got is that in each NiTriStrips branch the NiMaterialProperty is identical for each of the 4 parts. So, if I change the emissive color for one it changes for all the others.

I'm not sure if this is actually possible but I want each part to have its own unique NiMaterialProperty so each part can have different glowing effects.

Anyway this is possible?

Yeah simply click on the nitristrip for a section you want to change go to its properties and remove the nimaterial (want to add if the nimaterial isn't the last property listed to move the last property up when you refresh the property list) change the number of properties, if there were 3 make it 2 (I do this for cleanliness not sure if haveing an empty property affects anything). Then right click the nitristrip, go to Node > Attach Property and Add NiMaterialProperty. Voila! You have unlinked from the default nimaterial, linked a new one that you can go bonkers with.

Hope that helped,

Geoff

I think I followed your steps as they were intended to be so now I can set the NiMaterialProperty separately for each as shown here:

but in game my outfit is invisible:

Any ideas what I could have done wrong?

I was half asleep and forgot some steps for the nimaterialproperty. Hopefully you still have the original NimaterialProperty linked to one of your parts. You need to set the same gloss, spec, alpha for your new nimaterialsproperties as it has.

Geoff

EDIT - Just curious did you test your outfit before setting the new nimaterialproperty nodes?
