Matt6sic6
I'm running Vista, and have both Fallout 3 and New Vegas installed. I'm in the process of converting some of my Fallout 3 mods over to New Vegas and was wondering if anyone knew of a way that I could run both GECK's at once? It's proving difficult as they both seem to run on the same instance. A buddy of mine suggested creating a new windows user account, and running one as administrator and the other as a different account but I can't get that to work. Any help would be appreciated. The reason I'm wanting to do this is that it gets very troublesome having to open the Fallout 3 Geck, view part of a mod, exit, open the New Vegas Geck, copy in the data from the Fallout 3 Geck, save and exit, then reopen the Fallout 3 Geck and start the long process all over again. If I could just switch between the 2 screens it'd cut my time in half if not a lot more.
Thacker
I too, would love to know if this is possible. Or as an alternative, if there is some way to export the "Details..." info on the data load screen, or some other way to be able to see what needs to be changed aside from lots of scratch paper and screanshots
MadNuttah
I know there's a line you need to add to the geckcustom.ini in your documents\game folder: bAllowMultipleEditors=1 May this will do the trick?
Matt6sic6
That worked!!! YES!!! Thank you thank you!!! This will save me TONS of time. FYI for others though, don't just add the line at the end of the geckcustom.ini, that won't work. In notepad, search for the line as it already exists in the .ini, and just change the 0 to a 1, and then you can open both Gecks at the same time for easy browsing of your mods. Thacker
Nice, thanks MadNuttah! I haven't tried yet, but would this allow you to also run multiple instances of the same GECK (FO3 or NV)?
MadNuttah
Yes it does, I use it sometimes. :)
