devinpatterson
I thought it would be nice to have a fantasy themed virtual reality (VR) mod. This wouldn't be a total conversion of the game, but rather limited to a specific VR locale. I like the idea of a VR mod since it provides a refreshing and novel environment, but is not lore breaking. We have some assets already (for example CIB's Minotaur, various swords etc), and many vanilla assets can be adapted or edited to fit the fantasy theme. I can create spells, fantasy weapons and possibly some medieval architecture (certainly at least some tile sets that would fit). I was curious if others would be willing to help by creating new assets or discovering ones that would be appropriate? Perhaps it might even be possible to build up a competent subset of assets that could be used like a mini creation kit, but because the scope of the mod can also be extremely limited, even something as small as a single dungeon could be packaged up for a quest. Any interest? Also as a portential variant there, are of course, something like a cyber/sci-fi, western, oriental possibilities as well. The western in particular would be a fairly easy VR as we have so many existing assets from FONV that fit right in.

Morgwynn
There is an old mod out there that adds magic type spell/abilities to the game. http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/37295/?

Yeah similar goodies for spellcasters. I was thinking we also have assets for werewolves (monster costumes and a bit of editing) and vampires would be a pretty easy race mod I think. I'm hoping more ideas flow in.
ObieDwyer
Proper VR implementation for Fallout is nigh impossible.incorrect I say VR implementation as in like free-moving hands and such. Perhaps it's possible but I would think it would take a whole lot of work just to get a messy product.

Good Luck, Geoff Glad you could interpret that DaemonGrin, because the terms "like free-moving hands and such" makes no sense in the context I was describing. Think FO3 Anchorage etc using the VR pods etc that are in game XD. And of course tranquility lane  Good stuff. I was thinking a bit about the pipboy itself. I can pop up a menumode easy enough and/or a pipboy replacer. The first method by itself I think might be fine (tosses up your hud) as I think it would bypass the animation and the pipboy model (havn't tried so just guessing here). But if necessary a pipboy replacer like a "bracer of Krom" or some other fantasy model might work too. I believe you can also edit the fonts via one of the xml elements so you could have old timey english writing or some such.

Moraelin
Well, you can use my stuff if that helps. I'm sure that would probably be the only setting where the magic wand actually belongs :p There's a bit more medieval stuff on the Skyrim side of things, if you're not above porting meshes. I never ported the old Rus mace, the properly medieval swiss halberds, the improved arming swords (including some new ones like the Irish Gallowglass sword), the new Weapons Of The Shogunate meshes, back to FO3/NV. And Secret Of The Silver blades is also like two dozen versions ahead on the Skyrim side. Or then there's stuff like the Overlord's axes, for fans of oversized stuff. (I really should redo the scythes, though.) Or the templar shields seem somewhat popular too. Basically I'm sure you could find something fitting a medieval fantasy theme, that I've done for the medieval fantasy game :p
