toxicRepose
I don't know if this kind of thing is allowed here, but I'm trying to make a set of armor by combining individual pieces of vanilla armors into one set. It may be that I'm not looking in the right places, but every guide I've tried following has confused me at some point. So, I'm asking if anyone with experience in this kind of thing would be able to add me and help push me in the right directions (I'll try not to ask too many dumb questions). I have Skype, but I would much prefer using Steam.

toxicRepose
What game is this for? This is for Skyrim, but the modelling process is technically similar with Oblivion and Fallout as far as I'm aware (save for the nifskope work-arounds). The modelling is the only part I need help with, I can probably figure out getting it into the game myself. megageeklizzy
I suck at NifSkope, but I don't think it can do what you are wanting. I could be wrong, as, like I said, I suck with the program and probably am unaware of 90% of its capabilities. I suggest using Blender, though. Follow this to install: You should be able to find plenty of guides for actually using Blender online, but if you need any help, let me know. I'm fairly new to it myself, but I will help you as well as I can.
Laereal
Thanks for linking these resources guys. I might try my hand in editing vanilla armour meshes too later. Cheers!
