ilidan10
i downloaded and installed some mods that add new objects to the the game such as capes or cats etc... every mod i use that add new objects / items is not working properly the items added are purple / pink. for example i installed "capes and cloaks" mod and i bought a black cape and equipped it. here is what it showed up -->http://oi57.tinypic.com/2rwb7lu.jpgalso the sky is turning same color sometimes. i really want to solve this problem cause i can;t use any major mod cause of this issue. Surilindur
Purple mesh means a missing texture for it. So you have a mesh, but not the texture. Or the mesh requires the texture file to be in an absolute path, in which case that will need to be corrected in the mesh. Or at least those are the two reasons I could think of. If the mesh is there and the game finds it, but not the texture... hmm. Are you sure you installed textures for the mods, too?
ilidan10
well i did copy all the folders from the archive and merged them so i suppose that i did copy the textures of it. but maybe are not the right ones ? also i read that the loading order of the mods can have this effect sometimes.... Surilindur
It can? I cannot think of anything else than not having the textures installed. If the game finds the meshes, it should be able to find the textures, too, should it not? This is odd. Hopefully someone who has run into that sort of issue happens to read this. Because I cannot think of anything else. :( Have you checked the files are in the same paths as in the archive? Meaning "Data\Textures\...\...\..." folder? In case the merging went wrong somehow? A mod manager would be handy, as manually uninstalling mods is a pain and usually impossible to do correctly.

ilidan10
by the way i encountered an other .omod error while trying to install a mod it sounds like "An error occured while activating the mod. It may not have been activated completely. Error: An exception was thrown by the type initializer for Mono.CSharp.CSharpCodeCompiler" i am sure is easy to fix this cause a lot of people uses " DarNified UI " mod
eric31415
If you are sure that the textures are installed to the correct filepath, try using different shaders. The only time I have experienced purple objects (mainly statics, not items as in your case), it was from the shaders. You will have to google the process for changing shaders, been too long for me. ilidan10
you're referring to this: " bAllow30Shaders=0 - If set to 1, this option allows (but does not force) the use of Shader Model 3.0 on graphics cards which support it, namely Nvidia GeForce 6600 or newer, or ATI X1000 series or newer. This can potentially improve performance when using HDR rendering for example. Check your file in your \Documents and Settings\User\Documents\My Games\Oblivion directory to see if your card supports SM3.0 next to the option '3.0 Shaders'. " ? cause i don;t know from where i could get other shaders.... Edit: i tryed the upper thing and didn't worked for capes they're still purple Edited August 16, 2015 by ilidan10
Surilindur
I think he means looking up the shader package number in the rendererinfo.txt or something like that. Mine shows 017. Some have said it helps to rename the one you have there (the package with that number in your shaders folder in Oblivion folder) to, for example, "017-original", copy the 019 one and rename the copy to, for example, "017" (or whichever your document shows). I think the text file is in the same place with your Oblivion.ini in My Documents. Maybe it helps, or does something, but I have no idea. At least it might be something to try.
