Guest deleted10552447
http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/57075/? A mod's been made for this, but the meshes it uses are broken. I'd really like to see Vault 87-style mutants back in the Mojave (whether or not it makes much lore sense), and I'm sure it'd be easy to do with experience. Anyone up for it? I just peeked at the mod, but do you mean the textures are screwed up (looks like it from the pics). Hmmmm I wonder why, I would have thought they would be complete in the FONV BSA. I wonder if some textures are missing or if the mod author just fubar'd it.
Guest deleted10552447
Apparently the textures for SM armors are broken. I trimmed up and fixed the ESP along with the meshes and textures; it was pretty buggy, with some bad edits and unnecessary ITMs.
devinpatterson
Apparently the textures for SM armors are broken. Weird, I havn't run across that before. I mean there are plenty of instances of pieces and parts missing like zeta assets, skeleton and animations for Prime but no mesh, or the missing texture for the Mirelurk, but usually if they are in teh BSA they work. Maybe something changed with the FONV supermutants (uv map or meshes are different). I'll try and take a look at it if I get some time. Biggest problem is they're at an insanely low resolution (much lower than FO3 on the smallest texture sizes) and parts of the mesh are transparent and discolored. Danny159
How would they react to the more proper super mutants at Mount Charleston? And better vice versa? They could be seen to the other super mutants as mere savages, giving them an even worse bad name... XD

How would they react to the more proper super mutants at Mount Charleston? And better vice versa? They could be seen to the other super mutants as mere savages, giving them an even worse bad name... XD If I was any good at modding (my editing skills only go as far as NVEdit), I would probably make a lore-friendly mod explaining it and covering all that. I've been thinking about it for a long time. Long story short, a band of Vault 87 Mutants under one of their oldest Masters (though dumber than some Mariposas, Vault 87 Masters were quite intelligent) fled from the East after the Brotherhood and Enclave began killing too many of them to sustain a Vault 87 Army. This group would eventually meet other Super Mutants who would likely have no idea what Vault 87 was, but realize they were kin. Some Mariposas would hate the dumb and violent nature of the Vault 87s, but the Master leading the East Coast would start claiming he's the Master returned. Plenty of Mariposas, especially the less-intelligent and more violent ones, would be eager for the chance to serve the Master again, and the size and strength of the mysterious Vault 87s would either impress or intimidate some Mariposas into joining the Vault 87 Master's group. He'd gather enough Mutants to form a new army in the image of the D.C. Super Mutant horde, and would probably go to war with any mutants that fought back against him. In comes the Courier assisting the Mutants of Jacobstown in defeating the new Vault 87 Army (which would carry a vehement hatred of any and all humans; not feasible lore-wise to assist them). My general questline idea would be a final quest in which the Courier storms the Vault 87 fortress in the Mojave (probably a separate worldspace) and kills the Vault 87 Master, then has the choice of either wiping out the remaining Super Mutants there or letting them leave, disbanded now that their Master is dead. Kind of why I wanted Vault 87s to be added so badly is to try to get a start on modding this in. It'd be like a Super Mutant civil war in the Mojave until the questline is resolved.
