Redguard

I am starting a new redguard character.His main skills are:long blade,heavy armor,blunt weapon,athletics and medium armor.Is that succesful combination

If you are all about combat but is leaves no room for magik. Magik is very usful too just remember that. Thing of all the spells that help you out. I am just saying that you will need the assistance eventually. So dont just ignore it.

You want either Alteration or Security. I don't care who you are, you can't get very far in the game w/out one of those two. At least not without a lot of needless searching for stupid keys.

I agree with blackmage, Ive had afew succsesfull Redgaurds, my suggestion is switching blunt weapon w/ alteration, put heavy as a minor (if you have to have it) and put Mysicism(sp?) in its place.

Bit too combat orienttated, but does depend what your minor skils are. I have the following for my Redgaird (now at level 65ish)

 

Major: Long blade, heavy and medium armour, block (useful that one) and armourer

 

Minor: Sneak, security, alchemy, athletics and enchant

 

Combat sepcialty

 

As a not having played before this is what I started with, but now I would probably swap the enchant for restoration and maybe a theltics for something

As the game progresses you can train to 100 in any skill. IMO the best ones to choose are those that your character doesn't start with a bonus in. That way you can level up even higher. Good levels of Speechcraft and Security are both useful early on in the game.
