vram1974
Skip to the end if you don't want the stuff you already know There are a number of good ways to reduce crashing in Skyrim. This includes using: 1. ENB Boost binary or graphics mode with proper memory allocation2. Latest version of SKSE3. Memory Blocks Log4. Proper sorting of mod order (LOOT or manual based on modder instructions)5. Using textures your video card can handle6. Cleaning your files of dirty edits in TES5Edit7. Safety Load8. All the Unofficial Patches9. Ensuring you aren't missing any master files10. Repatching your SkyProc when you add, remove, or move a mod in your load order But sometimes no matter what you do you keep crashing. This can sometimes be created by what I like to call "SCRIPTS GONE WILD!" TLDR: Here's what you do: Download this: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/52363/? Now, click"Fix Script Instances" "Delete all #""Clean Other""Del. Broken Actives""Advanced --> Remove scripts" (both options)"Clean Formlists""Reset Havok" Save and load your game. If it works, great. If it doesn't here is your LAST DITCH ADVICE. Some modders will tell you this is a bad idea or that you shouldn't do it or that it can break your game. But if your game is already broken and crashing to desktop over and over AND you've tried steps 1-10 already, this works for me 99% of the time. Open your CTD save with Save Game Script Cleaner: http://i.imgur.com/UelNkON.jpg Find the Active Scripts: http://i.imgur.com/2GoVWFB.jpg Nuke them from space: http://i.imgur.com/FFCUO2f.jpg I just did this again tonight after I was stuck in a CTD loop. I then played for 6 hours without a problem. This isn't something you do EVERY TIME. It's when you are absolutely FUBAR'd and you need to fix your game or start a new character. I wanted to share this because I see many of you struggling with CTDs and this has saved my ass, literally, a lot.
