nexusmodskyu
I don't know why but in my skyrim, I always never could "disable" guards via console command. Well It's not a big problem but today I finished a mod that adds an animal companion to my game and while I was testing it I've found out the fact that the animal companion also doesn't react to "disable" console command. Now this is a big problem because I rely heavily on disable-enable console commands whenever my followers start to attack each other. (And in my case It happens alot) I tried hard to fix it but I just can't figure out why some actors become immune to disable console command. EVERYTHING works except disable command. resetai, recycleactor, moveto.... all works just fine. It's one big mystery to me.Any advices?
nexusmodskyu
Nevermind I think I just found out.In case anybody wants to know : If you set enable parents of certain actor, (or statics, or even misc items too) somehow it becomes impossible to disable via console commands. I don't know why but it just happens. (although I suspect there'll be exceptions too but)
cdcooley
Yes, anything with an enable state parent can't be disabled or enabled independently. The enable state parent system allows you to quickly enable or disable large numbers of things, but it also means that those individual things are now tied together as a group. And no, there are no exceptions. If you have Papyrus logging turned on it's one of the common errors you'll see because some of the game's own scripts attached to objects that have enable state parents try to enable or disable them and can't. Shadeybladey
Doesn't UFO have a "Stop Fighting!" command?
Larry111
Yes it does. Target the NPC and via the console enter "stopcombat" (without the quotes). If the disable command doesn't work on guards or other characters, use "markfordelete" (without the quotes). This will disable the character and they will disappear eventually. [My apologies for responding to an older thread but I like threads that are complete with real answers.]
