Problem with missing textures after uninstall of texture mod

I recently decided to uninstall Qarls texture pack 3. I used the omod found here on tesNexus to install it. But now the game thinks that I dont have any textures I suppose, as most everything is pink. But the vanilla texture BSA is still in its original place an untouched.

 

The uninstall directions for the mod said all I had to do was deactivate the omod, is there something else I need to do to get the game to recognize the vanilla textures again?

I found a solution to my problem. (mostly) It seems at some point long ago I used a method called BSA alteration to force the game to search for my installed textures. I forgot that I did this. When I removed those installed textures the game was still looking for them instead of going back to the originals. Thats why there was purple everywhere even though I still have the vanilla textures installed. When I used Obmm to undo this the original textures are now being used.

 

Unfortunate side effect to this is that all of the installed textures are no longer being recognized, so I have purple showing up on some new things. What I have to do now is use another method such as BSA redirection or even invalidation.

 

Edit: It turns out all that I needed to do was repeat the process over again. Instead of using any of the other methods I mentioned, I simply used BSA alteration again and now everything works fine.

 

 

the moral of the story here is, if you do something like this, remember that you did it so that you can undo it later!

Note: I recommend you to restore original BSA and do BSA redirection. Otherwise, if something goes wrong, you may need to reinstall whole game.
