Is there any special something to do for bot to talk

My tour bot seems to be mute. Damn thing wont talk. I have the exact same dialog, and setup for another character, and he talks. I program the robot, and he doesnt speak. Is there some special thing you have to do for robots to make them talk?

Actually this is a MR handy. And he has the PC dialog checked. No idea though why he wont communicate. As a matter of fact, I shot him untill I ran out ammo, but it didnt relieve me, I proceeded to kill everything in my mod again.

 

Yeah Im at a loss here, he wont speak. I need this work though, cause Im building the offer drink phase, and I can't continue on this portion without the little jerkoff talking. If anyone knows whats the deal is with Mr Handies. let me know. PLEASE. I swear geck sometimes just sucks the life from your creativity like a sunbeam in the desert. :wallbash:

Did you make a quest for your robot and add the GREETING topic at the minimum, and GetIsID == your robot as a condition for it?

It looks like the only quest that uses the Mr Handy Voice type is the REPCONHQFreeform quest, and a custom Mr handy would not meet the conditions on it's topics. The GenericRobot quest doesn't have any Mr Handy dialog and the HD00RobotsDialog quest is empty.

If you search the Fallout - Voices1.bsa for RobotMisterHandy voice, there's a bunch in there you might be able to re-use in your quest to make it voiced.

Actually I'm pretty sure the Mister Handy's have a Default Greeting. "How can I serve you, Master?" is one..

But to be honest I can't remember if that was a greeting or if I copied the greeting from the dialogue..

As a creature he cant communicate? Fairly certain he is a creature. Will look into this.

But yeah he says the how can I serve you thing. Thats where you tell him to serve me a drink. And then I shoot him. Again. Hang on gonna trying changing something in GECK before I get the axe out.

 

This is truely a bummer right now. Im gonna try linking a specific refence point to it, and have the dialog script validation do a check on that with the bot.

 

YES there is a quest, and everything I put in works so far except the bot. If I do exactly the same thing with a human it works perfectly fine. RObot no. So somethings awry. Also this a custom bot. Not the normal Mr Handy Model. Mr Handy with a tray to serve our guests samples bot. But right now he winds up with shotgun shells up his arse if he wont work again. Gonna look into the creature function thing though at Bethesda. Damn thing should be able to communicate.
