Rhydderch Hael
Be forewarned, child, for major spoilers of the Dark Brotherhood questline lie herein......Look, a cuddly bunny!........As Lucien details during the storyline, the Black Hand is composed of four Speakers and a Listener— four fingers and a thumb. In addition, every finger has a nail— namely, a Silencer in the service of each Speaker/Listener. Starting with "Broken Vows", your targets turn out to be your very comrades within the Black Hand: Speakers and Silencers alike. You manage to take out five before the game is up, and you end up joining with the surviving four members of the Black Hand before consulting the Night Mother (after Lucien's demise). Here's where it gets hinky: 5 victims. 4 survivors. 1 dead mentor. Then you. 5+4+1+1=11... It looks like this hand has an extra finger. In "Honor Thy Mother" the surviving five (the four plus you) are all Speakers, and I presume that is because anyone who was previously a Silencer to a murdered Speaker (two of your victims, Aval Uvani and J'ghasta, are confirmed Speakers) were subsequently promoted (as you were). So, how does the extra person fit in? Lucien said you were replacing his old Silencer, who had been killed, so you're not superfluous. You can have all the fun you want matching up Speaker/Listeners with their respective Silencers before you embarked on your little spree, but you'll still end up with an odd man out. You forgot something very important: 5 victims. 4 Survivors. 1 dead mentor. 1 player. And 1 succesor to the Listener. Nobody says that he was in the black hand to, unless you are taking Lachance literaly. And you cant exspect thet from a hunted man!
Rhydderch Hael
Lachance accuses the player's character of slaying the preordained successor to Ungolim, which would strongly indicate that the aforementioned successor was one of the four victims you killed prior to Ungolim. Or silencer. As i said only if you take Lucien on his words, which i dont think you can as he is tired, hunted, and very nervous (at least after Lucien's standards). If you try to understand him literaly his accusses doen'st make much sense. You gonna read between the lines.
