Feradiera
Thanks Neyjour, after uncooking finishes I can see if what I'm missing :]What image editor are you using? When I open up tga's that are supposed to have transparency in Photoshop, it isn't working. The tail texture, for example is merged with rootcolor_brown
Neyjour
Hello triskl3! Thanks for joining us here. :) And thanks for the confirmation about using RGB! Several posts back, I posted my steps for trying to mod the mane. Other than using the wrong codes, do all the steps (and .bat files) look correct to you? Feradiera
@ Triskl3 you might find this thread interesting: http://forums.cdprojektred.com/threads/57919-Changing-texture-path?p=1916729#post1916729 it talks about how to edit xml to access different texture files. Maybe there is something useful for you here :]
triskl3
Hello Neyjour. I'm gonna take a better look, but I personally didn't like using batch files for such. I did however liked ModKitchen, it worked like 70% better, have you tried? Anyway, I'll see if I find any missteps there. And Fera, I don't think you are supposed to see the transparency when you're editing the file on Photoshop. As long as the alpha channel is there and is fine, I think that's how it works, no?And thanks for the thread suggestion, I'm gonna check it out. Neyjour
triskl3, I haven't tried Modkitchen yet. I'll download it today and give it a try. :) Feradiera, sorry! I have 26 w2mesh files, not 27. When I did a search in that folder, it was picking up the buffer file as well, because it has "w2mesh" in the name. I'm using PaintShop Pro X7. Here's a couple screen grabs from inside my workspace. Both are .tga and have their transparency. The small crop is from the brown horse texture. I'm still not sure what that part if the template is for... eyelashes, maybe? And the other is 1 of those 3 horse tail textures we've tested out (each one with a varying level of transparency). http://i.imgur.com/jYHfSpf.pnghttp://i.imgur.com/YHVZ0RJ.png
Feradiera
Haha, that's ok :]Eh, the transparency is supposed to show up as a white and gray checker pattern, no color or white. That's why when I edited the tail texture before, I was getting spagetti tail because the transparency wasn't there, haha well now my uncooked folder is 40.9 GB, so not much new this time around. How are you adding the images, I want to show how mine looks lol
Feradiera
Hey, t_01_hd__hairy is a tail in the horse\draft folder Edit: Nevermind it's the same one you found XD Edited September 16, 2015 by Feradiera
Neyjour
I'm using imgur for file hosting. Once you've registered, click on "Upload Images" at the top of the page, and then "browse your computer". Browse to your image and click "Open", and then on the imgur pop-up window, click "Start Upload". Once it's finished uploading, there will be a "Share Link" on the right-hand side. Or, click on your name at the top-right of the page and select "images" from the drop-down menu. That will take you to a thumbnail list of all your images. Left-click on the one you want, and that will show you a full preview along with a bunch of different codes you can use. The one you want to use is "Direct Link (email & IM)". Copy it and then come back to your post here. Click on the "image" button (white/blue rectangle) and past your link into the URL box, and then click "OK". :) I hope you can figure out how to fix the transparency issues you're having. I really wish I could help, but I've never used Photoshop before. And yeah, transparency shows up as that grey/white checkerbox.
Feradiera
Well you probably got the idea, but I'll show you anyways, it's weird. exporting as png is the only way I've gotten the transparency to showhttp://i.imgur.com/QemmH2n.pnghttp://i.imgur.com/R3Mn5qE.png Edited September 16, 2015 by Feradiera
Neyjour
Oh, wow... The horse crop looks like I imagined it would, from what you described. But I don't know what the heck is going on with that horse tail tex. It should not look like that, even if the transparency isn't being preserved. Weird. :( I really don't know why Photoshop isn't showing the transparency for you. I've used several versions of PSP over the years, and I've never had that issue... Umm, I just noticed that the file names are .png. This is how your png's look? Or are these the .tga?
