WizardOfAtlantis Posted March 24, 2011 Share Posted March 24, 2011 That's not a traditional blade shape. Specifically, the sharpened edge doesn't flow all the way down to the tsuba. The tsuka kashira (pommel) doesn't seem traditional, either, though I can't see it very well from the quality of the photo. I've seen a lot of katana, seen many pics of others, plus having studied several schools of japanese samurai arts (et al), I can say I've never seen a traditional/historical sword like this from Japan. So, I'd say that it would be pretty strange if that were the real thing. Maybe it is, but...like I said, I've never seen anything like it and I've seen and studied a lot. Whether it isn't or maybe is, stop whacking it into things.
