The modding community is the very rare exception, not the rule. You're lucky demands for payment aren't more common. No sane person is going to do this for you. So either stop being lazy and do the work yourself, or get out your credit card. PM me if you want my help, give me money and concept art and I'll give you any weapon you can dream of. I will admit that if someone offers cash for help with a mod, it definitely greases the wheels. but demanding cash for a mod just seems kind of wrong. there are probly thousands of people still upset about shelling out ten dollers for KOTN. And like it or not, paying for custom work is expected in the art industry. The difference between charging per download (like KOTN) and charging for custom work is the artist's interest. If I've made a mod and put it up for download, it's probably something I wanted to make. On the other hand, if I'm doing custom work for you odds are I'm not really interested in it. So it's not so much payment for the final product as payment for spending considerable amounts of time on your project, time I could be using for my own projects. Why don't you just use a modders ressource if you don't care about what you get? And I seriously doubt people make mods for others out of kindness in their heart. Really. I'm such a kind and caring person I'll just schedule a few hours for your project right between studying for that materials science exam, reviewing multivariable calculus notes, tonight's pickup frisbee game, my nightly EVE piracy, and maybe a little work on my own creative projects. Get it through your head, most artists have not only a full life outside of their art, but plenty of art projects of their own to fill whatever time they have available. Every minute spent working on something for you means less time spent on the things they actually enjoy. So it's only fair that you pay them for that time. If you think Switch is harsh, or I'm complaining too much, you would just love the good old days. Your thread would've been replaced with a link to a pinned thread and locked the moment it appeared. If you somehow managed to put up an appropriate request thread, all your spammy chat in it would've been translated into russian and strikes would have been issued. Every complaint you made about my criticism would've been edited into "I love Peregrine, he is completely right". But please, tell Dark0ne to make me a moderator again.
