Sabres

I have noticed a disturbing lack of actual sabres in mods, every time I type in "Sabre" while searching, I typically get lightsabres or just renamed versions of such. Don't get me wrong, they're quite well done and there are even a few actual "Sabres" out there, but they seem to be simple retextures or not really sabres. Anyways, on to my request; I was wondering if anyone has already, or is willing to, make a Sabre weapon ( to those of you who don't know what I mean, it's called Pirate Cutlass in the game but it's a Sabre) with an original mesh and original texture? Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Edited by lemanrouste

Something kinda like these (though as a more personal design, maybe one with a blackened blade?)

Anyways, if you're able to do this I'm sure I wouldn't be the only one to enjoy these. Again, thank you.

I've got a rough model for a sabre I did a few months back that needs a few finishing touches as well as texturing. If anyone wants to finish it up they're welcome to it. Shoot me a message.

If you purchase the official DLC named "Thieves Den" it contains a pirate cove that has some fairly decent cutlasses that closely resemble cavalry sabres as well. Those are indeed cutlasses and not sabres. the main difference is in the tang, blade straightness and blade curvature. The full and half basket hilts on a cutlass will differ from a typical quarter basket of a sabre as well. Your pictures illustrate the typical sabre quarter basket hilt pretty well. A cutlass will usually have a half to full (which is really just 3/4) basket hilt. TBH the two weapons are nearly identical in design but differed a lot in application. You could probably just alter the hilt on a typical cutlass and produce a decent looking sabre quickly and easily.<br> Edited by Astymma

Sorry, I get the basket thing confused quite a bit. On top of being borderline mentally handicapped when it comes to Blender, I cannot purchase Thieves Den at this time either. Besides, I'm also looking for a good amount of blade work as well, such as the embroidering like that on the first sword (doesn't need to be exact hell I'd love to see what people could come up with on thier own for embriodering), with the blade size of the third and the hilt of the second and if possible, a blackened blade.

I had seen those but only very few really caught my eye, since I am not big on Rapiers I decided to pass them up. Yet again, I am incompetent with altering 3D models and the such so I would still need someone to do that untill I can figure it out myself.
