mods that will fix gamebreaking stuff (for me, at least)

at some point i QUIT the game because of some stuff.. some are big some are small but you get the point. i couldn't find anything that fix em:

 

1. repetitive dungeons and caves.. the same stuff over and over.. COME ON.. i'm surprised no1 is talking about it

 

2.lockpicking is too hard :( i just don't have the patience.. fallout3's lockpicking minigame was much easier for my taste :P

 

3. melee is a BIT boring.. perhaps i am missing something tho.. i keep leveling up the sword thingy but i don't see anything different..

 

4. faces and models are a bit... old for my taste.. i tried natural faces mod but it didn't help much

Tilesets are too much work with too little gain, but you can find some great quest mods or new lands mods such as Elsweyr Deserts of Anequina.

 

As far as I know, lockpicking is hard coded as it is, but I'm not sure on that.

 

For new animations, try something like DMC stylish. You can find quite a few animation replacers.

 

You can find new races and high resolution textures. Try something like High Imperials, Moonshadow Elves, or Cute Elves.

 

Do some searching of the site for new dungeons, new lands, new quests, races, body textures, and animations.

Try picking a real lock or two. Actually other than the pick breaking so often, it's one of the most realistic elements of the game - I like it.

Since I have never seen a mod that makes lockpicking easier (though one may exist), I suspect it is hardcoded. I'll poke around in CS and see if I can figure out whether success of autopicking could be changed or not. In the meantime, if lockpicking isn't your thing and you don't have a mage with a spell that unlocks, you might try this Lock Bash mod. It lets you just smash them, which requires less real world skill from the player.

If it's any consolation, I am no genius at the lockpicking minigame, either.

i was actually looking in the dungeons categories and couldn't find anything that makes the dungeons less repetitive.. all i could find is new individual dungeons that appear only once.. if some1 has info on how to add more stuff to the mix so nothing looks the same.. or at least most (?) let me know PLEASE

 

edit: found this: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=14036 if it does what i think it does, it might save the game from being boring (in the dungeon blend aspect, ofc!)

 

edit2: it just add wings to existing dungeons :( but it still doesn't change the fact, you've seen it once you've seen it twice, you've seen it 3 times, enough's enough.

 

i was WAITING to get that damn skeleton key so i can spam the auto pick button but the dungeon problem got me so depressed and bored with the game i quit.. i just paused the game.. looked left and right and said "i've had it".. my last save is in some cave:P ironically in front of a locked chest with 3 picks left.

 

the dmc animations makes my eyes hurt.. not very realistic animations :P i was looking at the reflex mod (Can't remember the name) that overhauls the combat system but the installation seems complicated and i am afraid of bugs.

 

i don't want new races, i wanna edit the existing races so when i walk in this world and look at people i won't see 2006 models i see something worth looking at. (i don't wanna sound like a graphic prostitute but i have a strong pc, i wanna USE it.. i already got environment mods to make the world beautiful... face and body models are the game's weakness atm.

 

that face mod doesn't look so good in my taste.. i can still see triangles :S

If that, plus a weather mod, external and interior lighting mods, sky mods, a water mod, a high res lava mod, Qarl's Textures 3, Koldorn's Noise, Better Cities, Unique Landscapes and Enhanced Vegetation doesn't crush your FPS, nothing will. Be warned, almost nobody can get reasonable FPS with MTAEWD, even now.

 

A tip. You CAN use anti-aliasing with HDR. You just need to set it in Catalyst or whatever software your graphics card uses.

OBGE (Oblivion Graphics Extender) adds SSAO if you want that:

what would AA with HDR do? would it even be noticeable?

 

if i can't add dungeons to the mix so it may put another random dungeon/cave in the mix (to increase the vary) what should i do?

 

also, a lot of mods i find useless (better sky, the see everything for a far, noise, weather etc) but everything else i DO have.. i try the Enaylas Races for Head06 it looks very interesting

 

any good realistic animations?
