I'll be picking it up anyway.

You know what I thing a game needs? Constant health. Regenerating is unrealistic, and health bar is HORRIBLY unrealistic.

So what I'm talking, is that if you take a shot to the arm, you lose a bit of health, and cant get it back until the end of the mission for example.

And a headshot should be an instant kill, of course.

This sounds good for a military shooter, but as DX3 is focused on human augmentation it seems a bit out of place. So does the regenerating health, though. I prefer games with a middle ground approach to health, probably because I'm not into the modern shooters that focus on gritty realism - I just can't get into it.

This probably isn't quite the same thing as what you're describing, but I remember a friend of mine having um... Soldier of Fortune? I think it had location-based damage on enemies, but I don't know if the player experienced it as well.

Now, to be more on topic, I'm looking forward to DX3. It looks a bit more orange/yellow than I'd like and I don't remember the first game having such a palette but we've really only gotten to see one area in all the demos so I'm sure there's some variety being held back until release.

I like Steam. Though to see things from another perspective, if I were the type to buy retail (physical copies in a store) I would hate to come home with my game and find that I needed to install extra software. I buy digital though.

At least it's not GFWL.

Yeah, it'll use Steamworks. I'm sorry, folks who don't like Steam.

I'm not saying i dislike steam, i'm more saying that single player games shouldnt need an online service. If i've missed something, and DEHR actually does have an mp of sorts, then its more ok.

The one thing GFWL has over steam, is the fact that it doesnt require the internet. Not every gamer has a connection.

Umm, you know that Steam has an offline mode?

In the steam window you click Steam in the upper left corner and then "Go Offline".

Same thing if Steam auto starts with Windows, if it can't find a connection, it will ask you if you want to retry or go into offline mode.

Yes, I do. BUT:

1 - You still need an active connection to install a game, offline mode or not (Theres the big one).

2 - You know its not actually offline yeah? Monitor your trafficking next time its set to offline. Its still using bandwidth.

What I'm saying is that at least GFWL doesnt require the net to install a game. What I would like to see is a box when you install a game, along the lines of:

'We have currently found no active internet connection, please check any cables and try again.' to which there are 3 responses, 'Retry, Disable steamworks for this game, and Cancel'

That's not possible. I've used Steam in offline mode on PCs that don't even have any kind of internet connection. Must be something else using your bandwidth.
