Skmist
I just got oblivion for my PC and it ran smooth, but when I started the game the next day I could not see anything. I can still interact with everything in the world and HUD displays. I can't see what I'm doing.

Hickory
Have you tried turning on your bedroom lights? Thank you for all your help Actually, I was being flippant, in regard to your lack of details. . Is anyone else able to help me? I would be surprised if they were, with the (lack of) details you provided. I borrowed the disk from a friend and he says it should work just fine.. I'm not sure that's entirely legal. That's a bit like me emailing you a disk image.
bben46
If the friend gave you the disk as a 'permanent' loan it is legal. However if you expect to be able to play on the same copy as your friend it is not. First guess as to problem - you are using a no CD crack - these are notorious for causing strange problems. Turn off or remove the no cd crack and test again. Second, you copied your 'friend's' ini file - the Oblivion ini file is what checks the hardware and allows the game to run on it. using the ini from another computer WILL cause problems unless both computers are exactly the same in all respects. Third, a manifestation of the nvidia black screen bug - try turning off both bloom and HDR for testing - video settings Also try running the game using the 'native' resolution of your monitor - using a lower resolution can also cause things to run slower among other problems. Fourth your 'friend' fobbed off a pirated version on you - SOL
