BiskmatarCatalyst
I've been using OBMM for several years now, with absolutely no problems to date. Even this morning I fired it up and it worked without fail. When I tried to use it this afternoon, however, I got an error message I've never received before, and which I have no idea how to fix. The following is the error message: Your Settings file appears to be corrupted. An unhandled exception occured.Extra information should have been saved to 'obmm_crashdump.txt' in Oblivion's base directory. Error message: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. These are the contents of obmm_crashdump.txt: Type: System.NullReferenceExceptionError message: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.Stack trace: at OblivionModManager.GlobalSettings.LoadSettings() at OblivionModManager.MainForm..ctor() at OblivionModManager.Program.Main(String[] args) Any help? Hickory
Have you recently moved your Oblivion installation, or your OBMM location? If not, and your setting really are corrupt, you should scan your system for malware, check your drive for errors and then reinstall OBMM.
BiskmatarCatalyst
Haven't touched my installation in ages, for game or for OBMM. Every single thing about the game has been running perfectly for months until this afternoon. I'm on an encrypted college-run network, with an NAC, firewall, and everything else (I'm pretty security paranoid), so I don't think that has anything to do with it. I can't think of any malware that would affect OBMM either. Did a chkdisk and other things and the disk seems fine, so OBMM pretty much catastrophically failed in the course of three hours for no discernible reason (considering it was working this morning...). I was hoping a reinstall wasn't needed, due to the large number of OMOD options and load orders and other finicky things that can't be backed up at the moment, but I guess that's the way to go. I'll wait for any other possible help, and then take that route. Thanks Hickory.
Hickory
If you do decide to reinstall OBMM, I would check out OBMM Extended.
BiskmatarCatalyst
That's actually what I'm already running; that's what broke down. I'm not sure if I should go back to OBMM vanilla for stability, or stick with OBMME for the functionality. Regardless, I probably need to wipe it and reinstall OBMM. If anyone can help with explaining the error itself, or anything else about the problem, that'd be great.
