CRACK_2
Hello there! I was adapting a texture but i have some problems when i get it on Oblivion:http://img716.imageshack.us/img716/9752/oblivione.jpg You can see a little tike "vaselina" in all the body... I think its an Alpha Channel problem (i open the texture before change a little in Paint.net and it look transparent, but when i do all the changes than i need and i save with photoshop and reopen it again on Paint.net, don't look transparent and the alpha channel is white) Thanks for reply. Hickory
It looks like you need to also update your normal map.
theuseless
Hmmm. I would first find the original normal map, decompress it with BSAcommander. Rename this to XXskinXX_n.dds (replacing the XXskinXX with whatever you named your texture as. Double check that all areas on your texture (diffuse map) are the same as on your normal map. Any places that are smooth where you have put your textures will appear smooth and without depth within the game. You can simply update your normal map with plug-ins for either of Photoshop or Gimp (I prefer to use both programs). You may also try to remove any glow maps (mainly for gloss and glow effects). I have run into difficulty with some combinations of glow and normal mapping, using NifSkope to illuminate instead. If it is as simple as an alpha channel problem, open the nif in NifSkope. Click on the tree that says 0 NiNode, expand that to the NiTristrips tree. Within that block, you will find the one named NiMaterialProperty. R click on this block, it will expand a window that shows all the texture properties for the selected portion of your nif. In this window, you will find that you can set your alpha channel, set your gloss amount as well as specular, diffuse, ambient and emissive color effects. These color wheels will let you mess with how light interacts with your mesh. I would try messing with the alpha and gloss first. bsa commander:http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=3311 NifSkope:http://niftools.sourceforge.net/wiki/NifSkope Gimp DDS:http://code.google.com/p/gimp-dds/ Gimp Normal Map plugin:http://registry.gimp.org/node/69 Photoshop plugin:http://developer.nvidia.com/object/photoshop_dds_plugins.html http://fc05.deviantart.net/fs70/f/2011/089/2/9/nifskope_view_by_theuseless-d3cu9dn.jpg theusless Edited March 31, 2011 by theuseless
