Thinking about getting this game...

I was thinking of getting this game, but of course, there are expansion packs. In order to get the game and ALL the expansion packs in 1 go, I need to buy Dragon Age Origins Ultimate Edition, right? Does Ultimate Edition include ALL the expansions, though, such as Awakening, Darkspawn Chronicles, Golems of Amgarrak, Leliana's Song, Return to Ostagar, The Stone Prisoner, Warden's Keep, and Witch Hunt?

Unless one has access to lots more data than any one player (or company, for that matter) the question is impossible to answer except by individual andecdote. And the results for either game are meaningless for predicting if the other will work, since they use completely different engines.

Depending on your particular rig, DA can be rock-solid or crash every few minutes. In my case, it was the latter beginnning with the 1.03 patch. And I have a Win7/64-bit/8GB/QuadCore with nVidia GT240/1GB -- Should be able to sail through something like DA without a sweat, but had a CtD whenever certain vfx/sfx events occurred (like opening a door. ) Found a viable work-around and haven't looked back.

For others, it never crashes...

Thandal:

How can you say the Feastday stuff is crap (I saw that strikeout!) I use the good stuff all the time especially when I don't want to use a companion, i.e. Shale. I never take her anywhere or talk to her but give her that pet rock and get 50 approval points

Also, if romances are going to fast a rotten onion will bring down approval ratings. Its also good to use if you are going to "get the talk" of choosing between love interests to lower the approval ratings.

I certainly don't use them all but they are perfect for manipulations :whistling:

"runscript zz_addapproval [NPCname] [+/-][nn]"

Finer control, doesn't take an inventory slot or require a trip to Camp, and didn't cost real money to acquire.

(I know, the last point doesn't matter when talking abut the UE. But it did when I obtained that piece of... DLC the first time! )

Compared to Fallout 3, how often does this game crash?

Now that's a bit far fetched comparison. For one, Fallout 3 doesn't crash if you got the game setups right and a powerful enough computer. I for one have had no crashes with the game for months. However I don't recall a single instance of DA:O crashing, so I would say it's a safe game.
