So got a new computer with windows 10 and I like it so now I can buy Inquisition. I decided to install all Dragon Age games and start playing from the start. I had saved my entire documents/bioware/dragonage folder.

I installed DOA via Origin. Started the game, created a test new char. Then I dropped my saved addins, override and stuff. All is there however, when I start the game nothing is there. None of the gear, winterforge, virgil vender and such. Some skin issues but most of the hair and makeup is working. I don't have the dazips.

How do I get them to work? Is there a way to import them into mod manager or DAmodder so when I start a new char. I can untic the gear until after the first save?

How do I get it to recognize?

Also since its been years, I noticed that Origins and Social Bioware site are married. However my DLC's are not all showing up. I have them saved on that save I'm talking about above but not showing up.

Can someone take the time to help me?

Much appreciated

a) EA had purchased BioWare even before DAO was released, so that's not new and has nothing (directly) to do with this. But as you installed the game this time via EA/Origin and some of your authorized (paid-for) DLC isn't showing up, you'll need to contact an EA Game Advisor. They are the only ones who can do anything to adjust your account's entitlements.

b) You can't just drop your old "\addins" folder into a new install. There are innumerable dependencies built into that folder, including which version, (UE, or not) and which install mechanism (Steam, Origin, retail disc, other) you used the first time around.

c) Mods, (other than CC mods) that were simply added to your "\override" folder should still work correctly if placed in that folder again.

d) If you're using multiple CC mods, you'll have to reconstruct the chargenmorphcfg.xml file that incorporates them all. Again, just copying an old one probably won't work.

Bottom Line: You'll probably be better off reacquiring the mods you want to use and installing them individually.

You can try copying " addins.xml " from your old " Dragon Age\Settings\ " folder to the new one. Save the one that's in your new game first, in case that old xml crashes the game.

Copy The contents of " Dragon Age\packages\core\data\*.* " and move them over too.

Your old " chargenmorphcfg.xml " should still work.

What DD says is true, except if what you had was the retail disc (or Steam, or other non-EA channel) install + any DLC downloaded from BioWare, and what you have now is the EA/Origin download and/or the Ultimate Edition, the locations for a LOT of things may have changed.

F'instance: The offical DLC used to go in the "\addins" folder, but with the UE it doesn't. (And that's just one rather important example.) Much like the cgmc.xml does for CC settings and resources, the manifest.xml is supposed to keep track of "additional entitlements" and their file(s)/location(s). Get that wrong... things don't work!
